Damn Right I'm Mad!

Misha just finished scoring "Damn Right I'm Mad!", a controversial documentary chronicling the struggle of black women losing all their men to white, asian and latin women! A film skillfully done by Omar McGee, pictured here with Spike Lee.

Who Stole the Soul?

That's the question asked by director Omar McGee, referring to popular music, in his upcoming movie of the same name. Having worked with some of the icons of soul/R&B including Luther Vandross, Randy Crawford, Phyllis Hyman, Nancy Wilson, Smokey Robinson, Syreeta and Carl Anderson, Misha is appearing in the movie as a cast member, as well as providing the score. (Check out samples from some of these productions on the Music page of Misha's website.)

Pennies

This rare film starring Amy Adams (Catch Me If You Can, Talladega Nights), Pennies is a brief but moving and comical look into the lengths a mother will go to see her daughter comes out ahead.

Mystery Artist Revealed

Who was the mystery artist mentioned in September's issue of The Real Score? None other than 15-year-old Luisa Lubell, PrimaVista Records artist and star of Telemundo's reality show, "Quinceñera", shown here receiving her prize money.

Luisa's debut mini-album, Amigos, written and produced by Misha Segal and Peter Roberts is an exciting mix of latin pop and reggaeton, and available online at Amazon, Best Buy and other online retailers as well as in stores at Spec's Music, Wherehouse, Sam Goody and FYE/For Your Entertainment.

Misha in the Miami Herald

The Miami Herald, specifically reporter Ina Cordle, has been covering Luisa Lubell's aspirations towards pop star since she was a little girl. Ina recently interviewed Misha about how he came to discover the Latina Girl Wonder, and this is what he said.

The Crystal Ball

October 21, 2006 marked the date of The Crystal Ball to Benefit the Fight Against Lung Cancer, co-hosted by the Lung Cancer Alliance. This was the first ever event of its kind. Misha performed excerpts from his Red, White & Blue Female collection to an audience of 500 people at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. Not a dry eye in the house! (Photo: Misha and MC Natalie Jacobson, anchor and reporter of WCVB TV in Boston.) Would you like to raise awareness about lung cancer? Get in touch.

NEWSFLASH: Over $120,000 was raised to benefit lung cancer awareness and research programs at The Crystal Ball.

Borders "In-Store"

Also on October 21, shoppers at Borders Books & Music in Chestnut Hill, Boston were treated to a live performance of cuts from Misha's Simplemente el Piano Romantico, a 3-CD set available in stores across the U.S.

NEWSFLASH: Puerto Rico reports Simplemente is simply hot.

Born In Israel By Various

Born In Israel

A song Misha wrote ages ago with Israel Prize laureate and dear friend, the late, great Ehud Manor, Yelid Ha'Aretz (Born In Israel) is the title track to a 3-CD just released "Best of" collection). One of his all-time favorite songs, Ehud requested in his will to have the lyrics inscribed on his tombstone.

To give you an idea of this man's influence over this culture: Ehud passed away last year. More people attended his funeral than that of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.... Misha misses him....

If Summer Lingers

Yet another song by Ehud and Misha, Ad Sof HaKayetz (If Summer Lingers) was introduced to a new generation when 21-year-old Rafael Mirila (photo, far left, with contestants and MC of show) won third place with that song on Israel's A Star is Born televised talent competition.

NEWSFLASH: The song, once again, hit the charts and is one of the most requested ringtone downloads in the country.

Summer Does Linger

If Summer Lingers was also performed in Los Angeles to a full house by Israel's legendary Yehoram Gaon and his troupe in October. Venue was Hollywood's landmark Kodak Theatre, home to the Oscars.

Adam By Eli Magen

Summer Definitely Lingers

Eli Magen, one of Israel's top bass players, with a seat in the Israeli Philharmonic, recently reestablished his rock group for the first time in more than two decades. One of Misha's songs Hashkafat Chalon (A View From a Window) is featured on Eli's recently released and very successful CD, Adam.

On a recent trip to Israel, Misha attended one of Eli's rock concerts. Eli, who originally recorded If Summer Lingers, performed the song. Misha was so touched to see the crowd's response, as they sang along from beginning to end.

The Voice of Israel

While in Israel, Misha appeared on two of Israel's most popular shows on the Kol Israel (The Voice of Israel) radio network.

Until next time! Enjoy the rest of the year and may 2007 bring you much health, happiness and success!
